Eruma plc - Major Contract Win

Eruma plc, the AIM traded specialist provider of counter terrorism, intruder prevention products and intelligent lighting, has won a major contract through its wholly owned subsidiary, Illuminex Ltd ('Illuminex'), worth circa £379,000 with Bristol Airport in the South-West of England for the provision of its energy saving lighting systems.

Under the terms Illuminex will supply a range of energy efficient lighting and lighting management systems throughout the airport, including the main concourse areas and both the old and new terminal buildings. The products are expected to save over 45% of energy currently used to light the airport buildings, reducing carbon emissions from circa 1,350 tonnes to circa 700 tonnes per annum. Due to the energy savings that Illuminex's systems provide, the majority of the airport's capital investment is expected to be recovered within three years. Bristol Airport is undergoing a major expansion project and as part of this, reviewed its energy costs and emissions and selected Illuminex as the best solution to assist them.

Eruma Chief Executive Wayne Money said, "This is exactly the type of contract we have been targeting, which is a result of our own sales and marketing activities as well as an increasing awareness by organisations that saving energy can also equate to good cost savings. Further to the quick recovery of costs, our customers are often eligible for funding through the Carbon Trust or Salix, both Government backed schemes that provide capital for energy saving measures."
